History of Carolina’s/Perdita’s

Located at 10 Exchange Street in a building that dates back to Revolutionary times, Carolina's is less than 100 feet from the Cooper River in the heart of downtown Charleston.  The restaurant pays homage to its world-renowned predecessor, Perdita’s, which opened in 1953, with items from the original menu.  Carolina’s continues to offer seating in the famous Perdita’s Room, offering an elegant dining experience reminiscent of old Charleston.  Proclaimed by The New York Times as “one of the most elegant restaurants on the East Coast,” Carolina’s is truly a landmark institution in this historic city.
